2021 – coming up on  Sunday 16 May  (11-3pm)

Huge sale of vintage clothing, accessories and trinkets. Outdoor yard sale. Cash payments only.

VE Day

Notty would like to say a huge thank you for all the villagers who kindly donated on viewing the VE display outside the Museum. And to those who didn’t view but sent a very generous donation. Although the day was very quiet with few people about, we still
managed to raise £100, which will be sent to Derby and Burton Hospital Trust. Thank you also to the ladies who so generously baked and donated those delicious scones!!

Award for Hope House Costume Museum

Hope House Museum has been awarded “Best Event” by the Derbyshire Museums Forum for last year’s “Dig for Victory” at the 7th Annual Derbyshire Heritage Awards evening held in July this year at the Barrow Hill Roundhouse, near Chesterfield. Many thanks to all those involved in making the Flower & Costume Festival at St. Peter’s Church such a success.  What a great team effort from a very productive village!! The photograph shows Notty Hornblower receiving the Award from David James, Chief Executive of Visit Peak District and Derbyshire.

Find me on Facebook and Instagram

I am Cathy Reavy and my hand embroidery workshops are based in Alstonefield Village Hall.

All of my workshops are produced as kits with detailed step by step video tutorials with no time limit on access.

Whether you are in Alstonefield on a workshop, or at home working from a kit, it’s important to me that you feel inspired, relaxed and encouraged by your experience!

“It’s like a Spa day without taking your clothes off”, said a regular attendee!  I aim to deliver creative, high quality workshops that are affordable and friendly. You won’t be given a ‘shopping list’ of things to bring with you – everything is provided, including home-made cakes & biscuits – just bring yourself. Workshops  run  from 10.00 am. to 4.00 pm.  Dates and availability for future workshops can be viewed on our website.

My kits include high quality materials and come with an online step by step YouTube tutorial. “I wanted to say how much I enjoyed the tutorial. It was so clear, I had no problems following it“.

I also have a YouTube channel with some free of charge videos. View my channel here
